Help for abusive relationships should come quick, or as soon as this habit is identified, to save the victim. But emotional abuse in relationships mainly involve a silent psychological torture which is not easily recognized until some sort of outward effects show up. By this time, quite a lot of internal damages may have been so done that whatever signs that appear outside would just be the overflow.
But why is it that most people do not seek help for abusive relationships but endure the agony for too long? The straight answer to that is that most people do not even recognize when they are abused by their spouses. Many forms of abuse are muted and not so easy to identify, at least until more obvious injuries manifest.

Emotional abuse in relationships is usually more devastating than the physical one. Both physical and emotional abuses can lead to instant death in the extreme. Emotional abuses, though more devastating, grow faster among couples because it is concealed to others. However, the abused often suffer severe psychological trauma, deep despair and depression long after the hit.
Sex, even in marriage, should still be consensual. A spouse has the right to refuse sex or to stop it.
Regrettably, much of the help for abusive relationships address the physical side because it is easy to see and prove. Victims in emotional abusive relationships often have to contend with the following psychological tortures:
Another common type of physical abuse is forced sex or rape. Sex, even in marriage, should still be consensual. A spouse has the right to refuse sex or to stop it. It becomes physical abuse when your partner forcefully attempts to, or goes ahead to have his way.
People often find it shameful or embarrassing to admit they are in abusive relationships, so it’s harder to seek or offer help to the vast majority of women who suffer domestic violence. But one could spot the abused by a closer observation of patterns of behavior. Some of the tell-tale signs of abuse include:
