Is It Really God Speaking Into Your Heart?

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I want to assure you that God is not unmindful of your hurting heart and troubled marriage. If you are praying with me as advised, I can tell you that God is working out your miracle marriage restoration. There is huge hope for you backed by the Word of God. He is faithful.

Many of you know that I personally, promptly, respond to your emails once you notify me of your prayer review, or you need my counsel on any matter of interest.

For several others, you have often reached me by scheduled (even unscheduled) phone calls, Whatsapp messenger, Facebook messenger and Skype. Oh, how I love to be spontaneous in helping you get results better and faster! But the challenge is that my time is getting tighter as I receive many more women referred to me for attention too.

So I have found myself struggling to meet up to everyone who requires my attention. Please bear with me if I have not promptly responded to your email or chats as I used to. I am working out a system that would organize me to attend to, pray and counsel those who really need to. I’m sure this will be made known to everyone shortly. Meanwhile, please continue fervently in prayers. I'm even adding more time to prayers at the expense of other Ministry details

Now for the discussion of today…

Last time we discussed much on how God speaks His people. I mentioned six main ways:   

His Word from the Bible,

His human messengers,

Your inner witness/voice (conscience),

His Spirit's audible voice,

Vision and Dreams.

Can You Recognize The Voice of God?

If you have not heard God before, this question may be embarrassing but if God is your Father, you should know His voice without doubt.

Today, I want to show you how you can be sure it is God speaking when He speaks. You see, God's voice can be mimicked or faked by the devil to deceive you. The devil could use well-meaning Christian people to mislead and trick you out of your marriage covenant. Remember Peter’s attempt to talk Jesus out of God’s will (Matthew 16: 21-23). Jesus saw Satan speaking through him, and rebuked the devil. See also Judas, a trusted ally of Jesus, had to betray Jesus because Satan entered him (Luke 22:3; John 13:27).

The most valid and reliable proof that God is the one speaking is confirmation from the written word, the Bible. Every word of instruction or direction must be validated from the Bible otherwise it is suspect. (See Matthew 18:16; 2 Corinthians 13:1).

The Bible is the express will of God on any matter; if anything or anybody contradicts the Bible, that one is outside the will of God. This will of God in the Bible is expressed in direct instructions (laws and commandments) or in the manifestation of the support or power of God in similar biblical cases.

God’s way of speaking is predictable and known; He speaks peace, perseverance, spirituality, encouragement and hope. He urges you to have faith and trust Him, and PRAY. He assures you not to look at circumstances but to hold on to His promises. But do you know His promises to you in life and marriage?

The devil’s voice is also predictable; he speaks fear and hopelessness, he wants you to disregard God’s Word and seek help elsewhere, or give up entirely. The devil tells you things are already very bad and could never be restored. He wants you to despair so much, misbehave and even take your life.

If you check voices coming at you often with the hint above, you would know who is speaking.   

I emphasize that our guide should be validated from the Bible, not from wise people and the times we live in. There is so much risk of utter failure in walking the talk of people who advise convenience and 'reason' against the help and purpose of God. These people may have the form of God’s people but they doubt the workability of the promises of God (2 Timothy 3: 5).

Do You Desperately Need God To Speak To You?

I will show you how to get God speak to you but bear in mind that you do not determine which method God will use in reaching you. Nevertheless, God will most times speak from His Word, and He will speak it to your spirit (or heart). Even if He speaks audibly to you, it sounds in your heart because it is only you that will hear Him.

So God considers your level of spirituality in speaking to you. Don't worry about your low level in God, He knows your level and can connect you at that level.

Now, to qualify for hearing ears (remember it is in the spirit), you must be a Bible reader. Please read your Bible, particularly the New Testament. If you did not read the scriptures I mentioned in this write-up (from your Bible), excuse me, you are not interested!

The second way of getting God to speak to you is by asking Him (James 1:5). This is so powerful and it should be direct. For instance I gave a prayer point two weeks back to a woman on this. Here’s the prayer point; it might help you too if you have to adapt it.

Scriptures; John 10: 27; James 1:5; Isaiah 30: 21

“Father God, I desire to hear from you directly on the issue of my husband’s (put his name here) behavior / infidelity / lack of affection/ divorce suit (whatever it is, be specific).

Thank you, my father, as I wait patiently for your loving direction. This prayer is in the name of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ.”

This simple prayer could change many things in your life.
